We are in another drought!!!!
The above photo is from a few years ago. It is of Turner Falls during a flood stage at the falls. Right now, more water goes down the drain of our kitchen sink than runs over those falls. We desperately need some rain. I do not like it when the falls are in flood stage, and I do not like it when they are not doing anything but a trickle. Will Rogers once said, if a person does not like the weather in Oklahoma, just hang around for a few days and it will change.

I AM OLDER THAN DIRT!!!
I have had several people refer to me as being old. Well, yes, I am. Here I am with my good friend Abe Lincoln. He is older. Hey, believe me, if it is on the internet it has to be true!!!

My grand parents on my mother's side.
This is my grand father, Virgil Lance. He began the process of teaching me how to play guitar when I was five. His only requirement was that I had to use his gift to praise the Lord. I have failed miserably.
This is my grand mother, Arty Mae (Shockley) Lance. She was the closest thing to a perfect human that I have ever met. She absolutely was the sweetest person I have ever met. She had the countenance of a baby.
I miss my grand parents terribly. I am tearing up as I write this. I am an old man now, in bad health, crippled with many instances of blunt trauma to my body. I only hope I can be as good a Paw Paw as my grand father was to me.

THE RADIO SHOW!!!!!
It dawned on me this morning while having a conversation with my wife, we have been doing our radio show for almost fourteen years. Above is a photo of my sons Nick and Bo when we were doing it out of our old home in Dougherty, Oklahoma. At one time, with corporate sponsors, I was drawing in millions of listeners. Well, the sponsors got funny with my money. I shut the show down and let it sit there for almost a year. Then....Then? I decided to start it up again, using only Spreaker as a provider. Many of you do not know how this all got started to begin with. I originally began using six providers to broadcast. I paid their monthly fees and used three computers with split screens to broadcast and that induced and provided a fairly large audience. Well, not long after that, like within two years, we ended up with some sponsors who actually began to pay me.
Fast forward to now. I am using only Spreaker as the provider, they pay me sixty percent of the advertising revenue, but then something else happened. Several of my old on the air radio stations began to contact me and wanting me to use them to simulcast. It seems to be working well. More later mah taters......

YOU WILL NEVER SLEEP IN AGAIN!!!!
My wife and I discussed all the babies at church this past Sunday. We talked about how the children have grown. We have a huge crop of new babies now. I love all of them with an intensity, and they own me. I have been giving deep thought to my mother having passed on into eternity, and how my step father is getting ready to die and stand before his Maker. Back to the babies. There are so many new mothers at church, and when I reflected on that, the above meme came back to me. It is profound and true.
PEACE!!!

LIFE IS WHAT WE MAKE OF IT....
Life literally is a gift from God! I recently was accused of being too happy. Nothing could be further from the truth, I live in a depressed state. I fight depression every waking moment, and I am succeeding in not giving in to it. How? First thing I do is take time to talk to God. I pray, I pray for blessings upon others, even those who spitefully use me. I pray for blessings upon my family, friends, and myself. On the 24th of this month, a year ago, my mother passed into the next life. I know my mother is in a much better place than mortality gave her. She was married to a man who treated her like a servant, rather than his sweetheart. He is now in ill health and approaching that door that opens into eternity. I fear for him, he has enjoyed his god during his mortal tenure. His god has always been money. I some times wonder what caused him to turn out the way he did. I do a great deal of reflection on what his mind is like. He is not going to enjoy what is awaiting him when he dies. One minute he is mortal, the next he is standing before his Maker and his life will be played back as surely as if it were a video. Every small cruelty he chose to do will be manifest. Scripture says there are two books we will be judged from. Since he does not believe in Jesus, he will be judged by his works. Nuff said!

MY PRAYERS THIS EVENING.....
I have not posted in a long time. My mother died, my stepfather is still living. His pride and joy is his son Dick. Dick is one of those guys who is inept and arrogant. He has this smug look on his face that makes you want to knock his head through a wall. Well, as I lay soaking in the tub this evening, I found myself praying for Dick. In a talk with my brother the other evening, I found out Dick has cancer of the Esophogus. He is most likely not going to survive the ordeal. My mother died of lung cancer and it was horrible to watch her wither away. Even though Dick is a dick, he is one of God's children. I do not want Dick Beyer to suffer, I do not want him to die an agonizing death, I want him to be pain free.
I have thought long and hard on the situation with my step father. He had said to my aunt and uncle that he was going to reduce the amount of inheritance my brother and I would be getting. My mother and he were married for forty years. She put up with his emotional bullying, his arrogance, his rude behavior to not only her, but other people as well. Sam, my step father, is a pompous ass of the first order. He will be turning 93 pretty soon. I do not wish him pain either, and I do pray for him regularly. later taters....
