Life literally is a gift from God! I recently was accused of being too happy. Nothing could be further from the truth, I live in a depressed state. I fight depression every waking moment, and I am succeeding in not giving in to it. How? First thing I do is take time to talk to God. I pray, I pray for blessings upon others, even those who spitefully use me. I pray for blessings upon my family, friends, and myself. On the 24th of this month, a year ago, my mother passed into the next life. I know my mother is in a much better place than mortality gave her. She was married to a man who treated her like a servant, rather than his sweetheart. He is now in ill health and approaching that door that opens into eternity. I fear for him, he has enjoyed his god during his mortal tenure. His god has always been money. I some times wonder what caused him to turn out the way he did. I do a great deal of reflection on what his mind is like. He is not going to enjoy what is awaiting him when he dies. One minute he is mortal, the next he is standing before his Maker and his life will be played back as surely as if it were a video. Every small cruelty he chose to do will be manifest. Scripture says there are two books we will be judged from. Since he does not believe in Jesus, he will be judged by his works. Nuff said!
